Summer Hairstyles

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all made it though this week, I finally made it to the beach! Now that it's unofficially summer, here are a few go-to summer hair looks for whatever you have planned! Enjoy!

Xoxo Morgan

For those hot summer days where effort is out of the question, I tend to go for just my natural waves. I find it odd that this girl is trying to brush hers out though! Tip: use a wide tooth comb to smooth out tangles and give a soft finish.

For a girly relaxed look try this messy braid. I love how its curled at the end! Tip: never braid tightly, because it will break your hair and give you a headache!

If you're looking for a more formal look, try this ombré fishtail. I love how the fishtail goes from big to small and light to dark. Tip: start with straight hair for a sleek finish.

I adore this braided updo. It appears that the bow is braided in with the updo, so cute! Tip: make sure your hair doesn't bump at the crown while you're creating the look. Use a styling serum to volumize and thicken.

May Favorites 2013

1. Too-Faced Natural Eye Palette- I picked this palette up this month and I'm absolutely in love with it! It's perfect for summer or any season really, and it's so easy to create so many looks!

2. Maybelline One by One Mascara- I fell in love with this mascara last summer, and when I purchased it a few weeks ago my love rekindled. I love the way it defines lashes and the waterproof stays on forever.

3. Anastasia Brow Gel- I've been getting lazy with my eyebrows lately, and this gel is perfect. It's tinted so I don't really have to fill my brows and it keeps them in place.

4. Wide Tooth Comb- After I loosely curl my hair, I've been loving just running a wide tooth comb through it to complete the look. The comb doesn't break my hair and it keeps the curls in tact.

5. Mid-Wedge Jack Rogers- These sandals are incredible! They're perfect for summer and I love how versatile they are. The souls are disgusting from my feet but other than that, I'm obsessed!

6. Light Wash High Waisted Shorts- Until this year I wasn't really a denim shorts kind of person, but I've been trying it out and I love the looks! They're super comfortable but super trendy at the same time!

7. Watermelon- Every spring I look forward to the return of fresh watermelon. It's so refreshing and crunchy!

8. Pinkberry Cookies and Cream- If you haven't tried this flavor, you're truly missing out. It's by far my favorite flavor and in my opinion Pinkberry's best since the release of Pomegranate.

What I've Been up To

Hey everyone! I hope you've all had a great Memorial Day weekend! I've been having a lot of fun, and I thought I'd show you what's going on. Hope you Enjoy

xoxo Morgan

This weekend I went down to my family's summer house in Osterville, Cape Cod. I had so much fun but the weather was awful.
Lately I've been dying to redo my craft space. As of now, all I have is a couple old tables in an unfinished basement. I'd love to put up a couple pink walls, frames, chandelier and use an antique dresser as my counter space.

Tonight I ate the tastiest summer dinner! My absolute favorite things are bell peppers, so when I ate them grilled with grilled onions, grilled chicken, roasted potatoes, and corn on the cob, it was fantastic!

Finally, if I could live in any era, I'd definitely have to choose  the 1950s. I've always been so intrigued by the idea of becoming a house wife, wearing such fancy dresses, and dancing all night to swing.

What's in My Beach Bag?

Hey everyone! Since summer is almost here, and a lot of you are already on Summer break, I thought I'd share my new beach bag with your and what I keep in it. You can also see my What's in My Purse post here. Let me know what you think!

xoxo Morgan

Here's what my bag looks like, it is the Shoreline Tote from Lilly Pulitzer. I love the design, space, and durability of the bag, it's perfect for the beach! The description on my website also said it was great as a carry-on or for travel in general and I completely agree!

Here's a look on the inside. As you can see, It holds everything one might need and has a durable liner. I just adore the rope handles, as well.

Inside, I carry the essentials:

  • Beach Towel
  • Magazines
  • Baseball Hat
  • Sunglass case (made by me:)
  • sunglasses
  • water bottle
  • hair ties
  • wide tooth comb (I broke mine upon aggressive combing)
  • Sunscreen
  • Wristlet
  • Cup (not shown, but ideal for music playing)
  • Urban Decay de-slick Oil Control Setting Spray

Bonfire on the Beach

Some of my best summer memories have been spent on the beach in the evening. I love having campfires and spending time with my friends. If I were going to a beach bonfire, I think I'd wear something like this; simple, laid-back and cute. Obviously I probably wouldn't wear S'mores lip gloss if I was going to be eating them anyway, but if you have good s'mores memories wearing it later will take you back:)

My Summer Beauty Wishlist

Today's post is all about what I'm most looking forward to wearing this summer!

Urban Decay De-Slick
This makeup setting spray is designed to mattify the skin and refresh your face during those hot summer days!

Benefit Sunbeam
If you've read any of my previous posts, then you know I'm obsessed with Benefit Highbeam. When I heard about Sun beam, which is a bronze gold liquid highlighter, I was ecstatic!

Makeup Forever Waterproof Eyeshadow
My summers are spent without schedules, so I never know when surprise plans will come up to go for a swim! But if ive already done my makeup, it's just gonna come off in the water. That's why I think this shadow stick will be perfect! They have an awesome color selection, my favorites are pearly turquoise and gold.

Urban Decay Baked
Not only is this bronzer's packaging just darling, but the warm color provides the perfect summer glow. I can't wait to pick this up!

Tarte Aquallius
I am definitely most excited about this product since I've been eyeing it for awhile. It's a beautiful bright red-coral lip shade that when I switched it, lasted over 24 hours! What more can I ask for during hot days?

Hope you all enjoyed!

Summer Haul and Review!

Recently I've picked up a plethora of new items for this summer. I'm so excited to share them with you!

Xoxo Morgan

Yellow and White Stripe Coverup: Old Navy sale $11
Blue bikini top: Target $17.99
Too Faced Natural Eye Palette: $36
Anastasia Brow Gel in Caramel: $28
Too Faced Lash Injection: Free Ulta gift!
Pearl Earring Set: Target $4.99
Peplum Top: Target $14.99
Jack Rogers: Shoes.com $136

Let's get in to the palette! Here's what the packaging looks like on the outside. It's light and relatively thin, and opens with the little pull notch.

Here's a look at the shades. Overall, they're very pigmented. Most aren't at all chalky and can be easily blended. My favorite shades are Honey Pot, Silk Teddy, and Cocoa Puff. My least favorite shade is Nude Beach.

From left to right: Nude Beach, Silk Teddy, Heaven. I'm really not impressed with Nude Beach, because it it so chalky and is ALL fallout! After applying it, there was a ton of glitter all the way down my cheeks, and I had a hard time removing it.

Revolver, Push-up, Honey Pot.

Sexpresso, Erotica, Cocoa Puff

Food Tag!

Happy Friday everyone! Today while I was looking for what to post I found this really funny tag! I thought it'd be fun to share with you some of my favorite foods. Hope you enjoy!

xoxo Morgan

1. What is your favorite food?

My favorite food is definitely chocolate chip ricotta canoli.

2. What is your least favorite food?

I can't stand oranges, tangerines, maderines, ect.,  mushy apple sauce like items, or tuna.

3. What is your favorite thing to cook?

I love making cookies. Following the steps and doing all the fun parts at the end are just so relaxing to me! You can check out my Peanut Butter Cookie Recipe here.

4. What is your favorite salad?

I go through different phases where I'll love a nice garden salad with a light Italian dressing. But other times, I'm crazy for a light caesar salad (no anchovies of course). The thing with me is I can't stand a heavily dressed or overly creamy salad that's just nasty.

5. What is your favorite meat?

I could eat chicken everyday for the rest of my live, especially considering I pretty much already do. However, I love a juicy pork loin. So savory!

6. What is your favorite soup?

Although I love a good soup, my favorite is the boring Panera Chicken Noodle.

7. What is your favorite type of sandwich?

My favorite sandwich is definitely the Panera Cuban Chicken. It's got turkey, ham, pickles, and a special spicy sauce all on a thick crunchy panini. It's warm when served too so it's extra tasty.

8. What is your favorite bread?

Bread is my favorite food group. I go crazy over sourdough. If you haven't tried homemade sour dough, you must find some and eat it.

9. What's your favorite ice cream?

Ice cream is such a nice food. My favorite is Moose Tracks with chocolate sprinkles. For those of you who don't know, Moose Tracks is a vanilla based ice cream with huge strips of fudge and peanut butter cups.

10. What is your favorite restaurant?

I have three, all for different purposes. Number one: Cheesecake Factory when I just want to go crazy and get a grilled cheese and Adam's Peanut Butter Fudge Ripple cheesecake. Number Two: Bertucci's for a tasty lunch and bread. Their salad and rolls are AMAZING. Number Three: Last but not least, I love to eat at Chipotle. Everything they serve is so satisfying and spicy!

12. If you could have any type of food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I could eat Mexican food for the rest of my life for sure. My top favorites are guacamole, anything tortilla-related, and rice!

14. What vegetables do you like?

I love vegetables, especially red bell peppers, carrots, lettuce, and celery.

15. Are you a vegetarian?

Absolutely not. For me, living without meat would be like living without instagram. I am a dirty carnivore.

16. Do you like to cook?

I love to cook, but I'm pretty bad at it. The other day I melted a pan in the oven. Does that count as cooking?

17. What is a typical food that comes from your country or town?

Since I live and am from the U.S, there aren't many foods that are strictly American, but Boston
is famous for Lobster and seafood.

Closet Tour and How to Redo Your Closet

Happy Monday! Yesterday I decided to dedicate my Sunday to tackle what I've been meaning to do for MONTHS; the closet. I wanted to change out my Fall/Winter clothes and remove any unwanted items. I also wanted to use the space better and incorporate some new storage techniques. Here's how I was able to do it, let me know what you think!

xoxo Morgan

Here is an overview of how I organized.

In order to clean, empty out the closet, vacuum, and use lysol wipes to disinfect and remove dust. Then draw out a plan of where everything should go.

With the shelf space in my closet, I hung a bulletin board on the wall behind. Here, I posted some of my favorite fashion pics and a 7 day forecast so I can plan my outfits.

On the next shelf, I folded my shorts.

On the top shelf I put three pairs of shoes, two that are strictly Fall and my favorite heels.

In the inside wall, I hung these hooks to store belts.

On the right shelf, I stacked these black bins and used them as bag containers.

Then I stacked these smaller bins for my scarves and headbands.

In the first drawer, I folded my cotton tees.

In the next drawer I put my bathing suits and coverups.

In the third drawer I put my workout clothes.

On the top left I hung my spring tops and skirts. Below are my fall items.

Last, I hung my dresses on this hanging bar.

Hope you enjoyed!
